Kings announce player signings
Lumber Kings General Manager and Head Coach Sheldon Keefe announced today the signing of six players for the upcoming 2010-2011 season.

MATTHEW ZAY – 1991 FORWARD 6’0 180 – A highly skilled, versatile forward that is ready to play a big role with this season’s edition of the Kings. He played the last two seasons with the New York Bobcats and was drafted 12th overall in the 2010 NAHL draft. A native of Glendale, New York, he is commited to play at NCAA Division 1 Mercyhurst College in the fall of 2011.

JOSH RICHARDS – 1990 FORWARD 5’10 175 - From Lee, New Hampshire he is a graduate of Phillips Exeter Academy where he played in the New England Prep High School League. A hard working, skilled forward that will add to the Kings offensive depth. He is committed to play at NCAA Division 1 ARMY in the fall of 2011.

TANNER HILDEBRANDT – 1992 FORWARD 6’3 190 – From St. Catherines, Ontario he was the captain and leading scorer of the St. Catherine’s Midget’s and made noise at the 2010 OFSAA High School Championships where he scored 10 goals in just 4 games. A strong forward with a great shot, he adds size and skill to the Kings forward group.

WILL SEEBER – 1991 DEFENCEMAN 6’0 195 – A native of White Heath, Illinois he is a mobile defenceman that can play in all situations. He comes to the Kings from Team Illinois of the Tier One Elite Hockey League.

ALEXANDRE PERRON-FONTAINE – 1992 DEFENCEMAN 5’8 175 – A smooth skating, offensive defenceman, he will be a big part of the Kings attack from the blueline. From St-Mathieu, Quebec he skated with the Trois Rivieres Midget’s last season.

JAMIE PHILLIPS – 1993 GOALTENDER 6’2 175 – From Caledonia, Ontario he played last season with the Brantford Eagles of the Greater Ontario Junior B Hockey League after being drafted in the 4th round of the 2009 OHL Draft.

These six recruits will join defenceman Keenan Murray who was acquired earlier this summer and the 13 returning players from last season’s championship team. They take to the ice for the first time along with draft picks and invites looking to fill the remaining spots on Friday August 20th as they open up training camp at the Pembroke and Area Community Centre continuing on Saturday and Sunday with scrimmages and practice sessions. The Kings Annual Red vs. White game is Sunday at 4:00pm. Admission is free.

2010-11 regular season schedule released
The Kings bid for a fifth straight league championship will get underway for real at the Central Hockey League's annual showcase which will be held at the Kanata Recreation Centre from September 10-12. This year's event will see the Kings take on the Kemptville 73's (Sept.11) and the Brockville Braves (Sept.12) in a rematch of both the Bogart-Neilsen and Fred Page Cup Championships.

Kings fans can remember the historic and record breaking 2009-2010 season when the banner marking the Kings incredible run of four consecutive league championships is revealed at the home opener Sunday, September 19th when the Carleton Place Canadians visit the Pembroke Memorial Centre.

The Kings will also be a part of home openers at the Steve Yzerman Arena when they visit the Nepean Raiders on Wednesday, September 15th and will play the Smiths Falls Bears in what will be the first game at the brand new Smiths Falls Memorial Community Centre on Frday, September 24th.

2010 Exhibiton schedule released
The Lumber Kings announced plans for a six game exhibition schedule that will begin on Monday August 23rd when the Kemptville 73's visit the Pembroke and Area Community Centre.

In all, the Kings will face three familiar foes as they meet up with the 73's, Kanata Stallions and Carleton Place Canadians for one home and one away game each.
